The Continuous Accessibility Certification (CAC) Framework is an automated platform that integrates tests for accessibility compliance, accessibility functional tests and accessibility unit tests. The 3 tier approach is an end to end test framework which shifts test leftwards; this enables accessibility issues to be detected early on in the lifecycle.
Unit Automation Suite: Certifies that a unit is accessible in the dev environment, this gives the developer an instant report sheet if the build is good or need to fix accessibility issue.
Compliance Test Suite: The application is verified against standard compliance guidelines this ensures that a page/screen is compliant to respective guidelines. The verification is done at an UI component level after the units are integrated and is in the test environment.
Accessibility Functional Test Suite: Integrate into the Automation Framework, to assure accessibility at a functional workflow level when the whole system is integrated. This phase is also tested in a test environment.
